Project #2 - Considerations.
Assignment: “Screen-Based Interactive Narrative that Redefines the term “Interface” – Explore the Visible and Invisible Walls in our World and the Ways We Gain Access”
In some long lost forgotten tongue, this instruction roughly translates to “User input triggers something on-screen.”
I have been putting off working on this project for most of the past couple weeks as my initial ideas are always either A) Inefficient, B) Impractical, or C) Lame. The one I wrote a proposal for this time around was a skillful mixture of each. No lie. Fortunately for me, my sabbatical from productivity has allowed me some time to explore different development environments, and I’m currently curious to the possibilities of Processing . Though I’m fairly certain that Java eats babies, processing has a decent user base, decent options, and isn’t flash.
I’m trying to entertain the possibility of incorporating some computer vision in this project, but working with a cam is turning out to be a royal pain in the ass. I’m thinking microphone play may be the way to go.
