Wifi-Chime MKII
The decision was made over winter break to develop this project further when I got an invite to participate in Denton’s Ultra Extra Arts Mix. Functionally, the mkII is relatively unchanged from the original. With only minor code tweaks, most of my development time was spent dealing with hardware and visual concerns. I am proud to say that this Wifi-chime is both comfortable and ridiculous looking.
Features:
- e-holster Uro shoulder strap
- 8 custom WinBond chipcorder sound modules
- Motion display
- Rugged construction
- tone trigger rate determined by wifi signal strength
- Bitchin’ radio class din connectors
This version is not without its issues though. Due to design of sound modules and mixing circuit, each module pops at the end of each sample cycle. Not quite sure why. Also, I’ve limited the number of devices powered through the Arduino’s power regulator, but it continues to overheat. Things to deal with later.
